South Australian Alcohol and Other Drug Strategy 2011-2016

The South Australian Alcohol and Other Drug Strategy 2011-2016 has been developed to outline the priority actions of the South Australian Government over the next five years in response to substance misuse issues. Its goal is to enhance the lives of South Australians by reducing the harms of alcohol and other drug misuse. It focuses on five key objectives to:

- Reduce illicit drug use and its associated harms

- Reduce the rate of alcohol-related harm

- Reduce drug-related harm to young people and families of those with substance misuse issues

- Reduce harm from substance misuse among Aboriginal people

- Improve the timeliness of monitoring systems so trends in alcohol and other drug misuse are detected as early as possible
